With a grant from the J-Lab’s New Media Women Entrepreneurs program, erinpolgreen is working to launch Symbolia, a bi-monthly magazine on the a tablet magazine that blends comics + illustration + investigative journalism.

Each issue will feature 3-4 stories. What will it look like? Here’s some of what inspires her:

Wendy MacNaughton on the San Francisco Public Library
Susie Cagle’s Dispatches from Occupy Oakland
Sarah Glidden on Refugees in Damascus
Matt Bors on understanding Haiti through comics:
“Chess Records” by Darryll Holiday and Eric Nelson Rodriguez
